About

Filippos joined Swansea University as a student in 2016 when he begun his BSc in Computer Science, and has remained part of the university since.

As a staff member, Filippos has been a Teaching Fellow for the Institute of Coding as part of the Department of Computer Science since 2019. His teaching focus has been on the Degree Apprenticeship in Applied Software Engineering.

Filippos' main research interests are optimisation, parallelisation, and High Performance Computing (HPC), particularly involving massively parallel devices such as General Purpose Graphics Processing Units (GPGPUs). More recently, research on education and the developing link between higher education and Generative AI has become of interest.

Beyond the academic world, Filippos enjoys programming and exploring the intricacies of programming languages specifically through statically typed languages such as Java and C/C++.
